it's like a "dream come true" for me to study only maths and the 3 sciences BUT THEN, OMG NOW I KNOW. IT SUCKS TO BE ONLY STUDYING THIS THREE. PIPC is like a combination of chemistry and physics? and MSt is like a combination of physics and amaths but more of amaths. i'm like, mixing everything up la. and right, bmlc is like, bio and chemistry? WTF.
BUT STILL, <3 HAHAHA.
OC cleared manymany doubts i had when i was in secondary school. like yknw, we keep asking ms goh WHY WHY WHY and mr choo had to use CHOO HAS TWO EYEBALLS and those funny stuffs HAHAHA..

gonna really chiong hard hard for this 2 years, so i'll go some nice place for internship in my 3rd year, and finish poly successfully.
really really dont wanna cry on the day i get back my results like how i did when i got back my Olevels results. ):

KPOP INVADING SINGAPORE!

Korean pop artistes have been heading to Singapore in recent months and this in turn has created another bout of obsession among teenagers.

It's a scene that has become common in the last few months as hundreds of fans swarm the terminals at Changi Airport where they hope to get a glimpse of their K-pop idols.

And while there are those who are able to withstand the long hours of waiting, it just proved too much for others.

But once the stars appear, some are willing to go to the full extent of trailing them.

One fan said: "We actually rented a van to chase them."

Allan Chan, CEO, Alpha Entertainment, said: "We see a lot of people bringing in K-pop stars to Singapore to perform. Before that we rarely see them. This year, in May, June, July, we see them coming almost every week."

Korean boyband Beast is one such group.

Having made their debut less than a year ago, they're surprised by their reception here.

Son Dong Woon, member, Beast, said: "One thing really interesting was they followed us, and on the window, they had boards with our name on it, saying "we love you boys". That was really interesting!"

But what is it about K-pop that oozes appeal?

Lee Gi Kwang, member of Beast, said: "Korean music is kind of trendy and it is really picking up and very addictive. There are repetitions in the songs and that makes it kind of catchy."

The fans seem to agree.

One of them said: "Korean music is the only kind of music I have been listening to."

"You don't have to understand the lyrics but through the music you can understand the feelings and all that,” said another fan.

And it seems being a K-pop fan means at least knowing some of the lyrics.

It also means perfecting the dance routines at least for one group of K-pop enthusiasts, who's also hoping to lead the K-pop wave here by setting up their own web community-SGK-Wave.

Indeed it seems K-pop mania is here to stay.

비스트는 지난 6월부터 필리핀, 싱가포르, 말레이시아 등 아시아 프로모션을 진행했다. 이들은 가는 곳마다 수천명의 팬들과 수많은 취재진을 불러모으며 인기를 끌었다.

멤버 용준형은 T-뉴스와의 인터뷰에서 "사실 해외 팬들이 있을거라고 생각도 안했다. 때문에 너무 놀랐다"며 "일본을 제외하고는 하루종일 호텔 숙소에 있었던 것 같다. 하루종일 인터뷰 스케줄이 잡혀있어서 구경을 하지 못했다"고 밝혔다.

이어 일본 쇼케이스 당시의 에피소드도 공개했다. 그는 "일본에 갔을 때 하라주쿠 등에 쇼핑을 갔다. 하나 둘 씩 우리를 알아보는 팬분들이 생기시더니 숫자가 점점 늘어났다. 사인을 해달라는 분들도 계셨다. 결국 매니저 형이 '스미마센'을 외치며 만지지 말아달라고 부탁하셨다"고 전했다. 또 "그 다음날 또 거리에 나섰는데 이번엔 메이크업과 의상까지 풀세팅을 하고 나갔다. 카메라도 있는데다 멤버들이 몰려다녀서 그런지 다가오지 않으셨다"고 설명했다.

해외 스케줄이 힘들었는지 살이 쪽 빠진 용준형은 "우리가 지나가도 잡아끌거나 하지 않고 그냥 바라만 보는데, 우리를 자주 못보기 때문인지 정말 열띤 호응을 해주셨다. 음식이 입맛에 맞지 않아 조금 힘들긴 했지만 팬분들 덕분에 정말 즐겁게 해외 프로모션을 마칠 수 있었다"고 말했다.

용준형은 당분간 지나의 데뷔곡 '꺼져줄게 잘살아' 무대에 랩 피처링으로 지원사격을 할 예정이다.

Starting in June, BEAST had done their Asia promotions in Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and more. Anywhere they went, they attracted thousands of fans along with reporters attracting attention.

In an interview with T-News, member Yong Junhyung stated, “Honestly we didn’t even think we were going to have fans overseas. That’s why we were so surprised.” He added, “I think we were inside the hotel the whole time except for Japan. We didn’t even get to look around because we had interview schedules all day.”

In addition, he added a happening that occurred during a showcase in Japan. He said, “When we were in Japan, we went shopping in the Harajuku district. There were at first one or two fans that noticed us, but the number soon grew. There were even some people asking for signatures. Eventually our manager had to say ‘smimasen’ to tell the people just not to touch us. When we got out on the streets the next day we had a full setting with the makeup and even our stage clothes. Unlike before, maybe it was because of the cameras and us being together, but no one came near us.”

Yong Junhyung who looked like he lost weight from the hard oversea schedules stated, “They didn’t even grab us when we were walking by and just watched us, maybe it was because they were oversea fans that couldn’t see us often, they gave us loud cheers. It was hard because the food didn’t match our taste well, but we were able to end the promotions well thanks to all the fans.”

Meanwhile, Yong Junhyung plans to feature in the stage rap for G.NA’s debut song ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’.

BEAST unwilling to leave Singapore
Korean boyband BEAST was in Singapore last week for their promotional tour

Shrill screams of adoration for BEAST -- from their music showcase to various events -- never quite stopped as fans went gaga over the boys.

In their short stopover here, BEAST not only had a press conference, they also tried to arrange for one-on-one interviews with various publications and media.

During the interview with xinmsn last Friday, members of BEAST were endearing and tried their best to answer the questions despite the language barrier.

BEAST, which stands for Boys of East Standing Tall, gives the impression that members are ferocious and 'beastly'. Son Dong-woon explains that while they call themselves BEAST, they are not 'beastly' at all.

"What BEAST refers to is that we are powerful and charming when performing on-stage. Sometimes we really regret calling ourselves BEAST because the six of us are actually very nice and gentle people," said Son.

Indeed, the boys of BEAST are gentle, even to the extent of coming across as shy, according to xinmsn's observations. When asked to describe their own individual characters, most of them admitted that they are rather reserved when in the company of strangers.

As it is their first time in Singapore, leader Yoon Doo-joon said that the fans left a deep impression on them. One fan even took the effort to travel to the Philippines to support BEAST and when Doo-joon saw her again in Singapore, the fan told him that she will go down to Malaysia too, which is BEAST's next stop.

"The time and effort the fans spent on us is really flattering and we appreciate that. We will do our own best in performing to show our gratitude."

When Doo-joon told xinmsn that the thought of leaving Singapore saddens him, Jang Hyun-seung, who was sitting beside him, suddenly teared up and the interview was momentarily halted as he dabbed away his tears with a piece of tissue.

It turned out that Hyun-seung was not crying - something got into his eyes, causing him to tear up. The cheeky members even patted Hyun-seung's shoulders, as if to comfort him.

Each member of BEAST has their own special charm that attracts different groups of fans. This is the reason why BEAST managed to build up such a large base of fan support in a short time.

When xinmsn asked BEAST who do they think is the best with girls, Doo-joon got the most votes.

"I'm flattered, but I think they chose me because I'm the leader. Actually I think Yo-seob should be the one because he has the most number of fans. He's very cute and 'noona'(which means slightly older females in Korean) fans like him the most."

While most of BEAST's fans are females, the boys revealed that they are not good at getting along with girls. When asked on how they would humor a girl, most of the boys could not come up with an answer.

Yong Jun-hyung, however, came up with a hilarious reply. He said that besides taking care of his appearance and making sure he appears gentlemanly, he might even consider opening up his wallet to make the girl happy.

While most Korean artistes are banned from dating, BEAST told xinmsn that their company does not have that restriction. In fact, the boys really hope that they can find suitable partners to date, but would have to concentrate on their budding careers first.

Talk about Singapore's famous local delicacy, chili crab, got the boys all riled up. They animatedly gestured the size of the crab they ate and how it was the biggest crab they have even seen.

When asked if BEAST would be returning to Singapore, Doo-joon said that while they do not have plans to do so yet, he would be "more than happy to come back to Singapore for the chili crab!"

BEAST will be heading to Malaysia and Japan for their promotional tour.
Their second album is scheduled to be released in August.
